Trans-America Trail is mostly unpaved roads. You have to be really in shape to overcome the terrain. Well, here is a plan to reduce my body weight from 195 to 175 pounds for the trip. It will take lots of excercise and diet.
Speaking of diet. It's not about what you eat, but how much at a time and at what time. Main goal is to have light breakfast in the morning, a good meal for lunch, reach on carbs and a very light dinner, may be lighter than breakfast. Next thing, never chew and swalow anything after 8PM, and between the scheduled meals during the day. Fruits and Vegetables are a must. It's hard, but some liquids need to be eliminated from having, such as coke and beer. Well, may be not beer.
Excercise. I play league hockey once a week on Wednesday nights. It's not enough. Let's play hockey at least 3 time per week and spread it evently. OK, there is a pick-up hockey on Saturday and Sunday nights I can play.
